This past Thursday, NPR announced the end of JazzSet – their nationally-syndicated radio program that recorded live performances from around the nation, from a variety of setting, and broadcast them after the fact. This is truly a sad announcement. NPR has been a great proponent and supporter of jazz for many years, and the ending of this program is a huge hit to the jazz community.
During the final episode of JazzSet, host Dee Dee Bridgewater runs through a series of highlights from the program’s 23-year history. It is definitely worth taking a listen!
